Tear-o-shima

As a weather phenomenon, rain is highly ambivalent. It is essential for life, although in the least it can be annoying and sometimes even life-threatening, when it causes floods for instance.
It can also be contaminated by noxious substances, through volcanic eruptions or environmental pollution. Hiroshima is perhaps an example of such effects reaching their worst, when rains turned black after the bomb was dropped.
