The need to communicate obviously goes back to prehistoric times. But our purpose in communicating is not just to survive – primitive gestures and grunts would do here.
Although Phunst is about changing society, the focus still needs to be on individual attitudes. An artist has a highly privileged position in society.
In Origins we try to understand the idea behind the term Phunst, it is best to first go back to the French Revolution. Besides the well-known watchwords “liberty, equality and fraternity”, the French Revolution has left us with two other major developments.
